These Lacy Honey Wafers could almost qualify for a chocolate chip cookie, but not.
Did that make any sense? No? Well, you’ll know what I mean when you bake them. My little bit of craziness will all make sense then, I promise.
I realized over the weekend (while attending the BlogHer Food Conference in San Francisco), that I’m not totally playing with a full deck.
You see, other people (meaning foodies), don’t seem to fixate the way I do on one particular food item. They love food, but it’s more “food in general”. All kinds of food. All kinds of baked goods.
Me? I’m pretty much just a cookie girl. Ask me to bake you a cake, and I’ll give you something reminiscent of a burnt, flaky cow patty. It’s not pretty. In fact, it’s scary. So I tend to stick with what I know, and I know cookies. I’m no expert, I just know what I like. In fact, I’ve never been to culinary school or pastry school, but I do know my way around a cookie.
So in light of this mild-manner wackiness, I can assure you, that these really do qualify for chocolate chip cookies, but not really.
They are thin, a bit crisp, and just, well…. fabulous.
